So, I suck at remembering birthdays, but LJ helps out a lot. So, for all my flisters here, I like to write birthday drabbles. Unfortunately, by the time LJ notifies me, I don't have a lot of time to write them/get them ready to post. So. If you're on my flist, please respond to this post with what fandom/pairing/any addition prompt you'd like when it comes time for your birthday, and then I can be prepared!

But for now, I'd settle for any Dr. Who/Panic crossovers. But not if they involve stupid hipster 11th doctor, please. Anyone?
Alternately, any great 9th or 10th Doctor fics would be awesome, but I don't like pairings unless it's Doctor/Donna.

I feel sort of like a loser for how I've completely abandoned the internet, gaming, and most other things that have, in the past, been my biggest sources of pleasure. I swear I'm going to get back into things. Right now we're busy packing up at the apartment, lugging things down to the house, then unpacking down there.
We painted our master bedroom! It was a huge pain in the ass because we started out using the wrong type of roller, so we had to do three coats in some places instead of just two, ugh. Also, I think we got the wrong grade of sandpaper, and had to exert way more effort than necessary. I had a really, really bad night that night. My sciatica has been crazy anyway, and then I have my arms over my head, pushing really hard while sweeping up and down the walls? Yeah, genius. Woke up about 1 am and threw up from pain, couldn't move without crying out. Muse made me a bed of pillows on the couch, because I couldn't lie flat, and just throbbed with pain all down my left side and back/hip/leg. But we got it done in time before they delivered our new KING! bed frame and mattress, and I adore the colour, you guys.
( BEDROOM! )
Now we just need to get the rest of the shit moved in, so I can focus on decorating the nursery (and eventually the bathroom, kitchen, dining nook, and loft, what?) With the money we saved on the down payment for the house, I was able to get us said new bedroom set, some awesome patio furniture, a dual charcoal/gas grill, a leather rocker/recliner, a glider and crib for bb's room, and we're going on a babymoon to Charleston at the end of the month. BEACH! I can't wait!
Meanwhile, yesterday I got to spend some time with two of my favourite people:

Poor miss Xavi woke up nuzzling me like she was gonna get milk from that bosom. Not for a few more months, kid. She slept for a solid hour and half before we had to dress her to leave for dinner, and at least half the time Escher was kicking right where she rested as if to say "HAYYY, that's MY mom!"
Yeah, well, kid could make his presence better known. 26 weeks, and ( here I am: )
And as soon as I typed that, he started kicking, lol.
BTW, I resized these pictures, and I don't know if it's something to do with needing to clear out cookies or something, but they're still showing up HUGE for me. If it's the same, let me know so I can fix them and they don't blow up your screens.

It keeps me from posting nearly so often as I'd like to. But I've been meaning to put this here, and I can't hold off any longer!
xsnarkasaurus, you are my absolute favourite! I can't tell you how big I grin every time I see that my little blue water dragon on my infopage ♥
Meanwhile, baby is kicking A LOT these days, and it's sort of shocking, and uncomfortable, but still awesome. Although I'm a little worried, because if he's kicking this hard at 21 weeks, what's it going to be like at 31 weeks? *shudder*
I could also so without my animals vying for my attention. Mostly it's sweet. But when it takes the form of cat standing on my uterus, then dog flopping down with her front paws on my uterus, I'm pretty much left writhing in agony. Not cool, guys.

First off, thank all of you for your VERY STRONG OPINIONS on baby names, lol. I guess I knew that either one or both would strike people the wrong way (hence the hate both option). Still, I appreciate it. At this point, between that poll, and real life polling, Remy is in the lead for a boy! I guess on Wednesday we'll find out if we even need it.
In the meantime, I'm finally feeling like reading something! YAY! Please rec me fics. The longer the better. I really like getting lost in a fic.
Things I would love:
Harry Potter (of the Snape/Harry, Draco/Harry, or Albus/Scorpius ships)
Psych (Lassi/Shawn
House (House/Wilson, House/Wilson/Cuddy, House/Chase)
Supernatural (I NEED ME MORE CAS/DEAN. Or Dean/Sam)
Merlin (I particularly love modern AUs, but only if Merlin STILL HAS MAGIC, and of course I've read the really popular ones...forget names, but the one where Arthur's prince and Merlin is his college roommate, and the one where Merlin's the doctor smoking in closet)
Spencer/Brendon, or Spencer/Brendon/Ryan, Pete/Patrick, Bill/Gabe
I know, I'm so picky. *graspy fingers*

Okay, so for one sex we have the name picked out, but for the other we've had a bit more trouble. We do have an anatomy scan on the 22nd to find out whether we're having a boy or girl, and hopefully that will make our choice 100% easier.
In the meantime, we're polling our friends on the other name. We've picked gender neutral names either way, which is why I'm not saying which sex this is for. Feel free to let me know in the comments why you prefer or hate either/both names, and if you want to offer suggestions for other names, go ahead, but we've been through literally hundreds...

I didn't do no_tags this year, pretty much because any creativity I had to begin with has been sapped by this parasite within. I swear, I don't want to read anything, write anything, watching anything, I barely even play my video games right now. I hope it'll pass after the baby is born, because it does leave me awfully bored/boring and humourless D:
But, seeing the post about droputs just really pisses me off. I'm sure that not everyone goes into these sorts of challenges with bad intentions. I'm sure for a lot of people, they certainly think they can and will finish the fic they claim within the allotted time. Then life steps in, in any variety of forms, from sickness, to work, to family business, whatever. And especially in a challenge of this short length, that doesn't leave any wiggle room to finish things up. (also, in this particular instance, where claims are picked instead of assigned to people with interests in the same band, some unlucky few will come along when there are only a few prompts left, and have all of them be of bands they don't know/don't like, and maybe despite their best efforts, they just can't write anything for it.)
Still, it rubs me the wrong way to think that there are, without doubt, at least one or two people who look at this sort of challenge and think "hey! I can request the fic I really want, and I KNOW it will be filled, regardless of whether or not I write anything! Perfect deal." In this sort of situation, it's impossible to deny the dropouts their fic, because of the double-blind nature of the challenge. You don't know which fic was requested by the person who failed to turn in their fic. The stuffsit challenge did a bit better, by stating that the fic being posted was written for a dropout--but that dropout still gets the fic they wanted. And we can't expect the person who spent the time and effort on the fic NOT to post it.
I don't know exactly what the solution to be. One thing is, if the mods at least kept track of the names of the requestees and dropouts, then they could let a writer know if they'd written something for the dropout, and then the writer could just hold on to that fic for a few weeks. The dropout wouldn't know who was writing their fic, so they wouldn't think to check that person out when it was posted.
Maybe I'm thinking about this WAY too much. And I haven't even ever been screwed over--I've always gotten fic written for me, or art/mixes, things like that. But it's seriously unfair to the people who are ripped off--yeah, they get their fic eventually, but they get it knowing the asshole who was supposed to write it got a free fic out of the whole deal. Grrr.
If this seems overly crazy, feel free to blame it on pregnancy brain...

Guys! Check out the awesome fic that I got in the bandomstuffsit exchange:
Fade Like Evening
It's a before the were famous Pete/Patrick snippet, with ache-y, broken Pete, and confused, teenage Patrick. Sad, but in a good way.
Also fun reads:
Hold It In
Bb!Frank/Gerard. Adorable.
Kisses on the Necks of Best Friends
Another before they were famous Pete/Patrick snippet, with silly boys dancing around their feelings.
Fight Our Way Free by Tooth and by Claw
Interesting vampire!Spencer/werewolf!Brendon mystery, which I would really love to see another 50k of.
There are a lot of the others I really want to read...now I just need to find the time! I'm so excited for the reveal. I have some guesses on these...

I know there are a few people on my flist who have lived in Japan in the past and who are there currently. I've been trying, in vain, to find a place online to purchase a hina no tsurushi zakari (the chirimen mobiles that are hung around Hina Matsuri, made with hundreds of different figures--different animals, blossoms, fruits, aka-chan, etc). I was too broke while in Japan to buy one myself. I did buy a single strand with an owl motif, but it was about 30 or 40 bucks on its own, so you can see my dilemma.
I think, probably starting in January, though def. in Feb and March, these will be readily available in Japan. I'd be more than happy to pay for the product, shipping, and your time, if anyone living in Japan could purchase one for me. If you know what I'm talking about and are able to do this, can you let me know here? Then we could talk more via email about what motifs I'm looking for, and what price range I can afford, etc.

Does anyone know where I could get a preview of what shirts/hoodies Panic! and Foxy have on their current tour? I'm on a budget right now, so I'd like to plan ahead of time to figure out what I really want and what I can afford.
Also, if anyone's going to the show in Cinnci on the 6th, I'd be happy to meet up. Muse has work, so I'm going by myself, and I'm a little anxious about it...

For Christmas this year, I'm going to put together a book of recipes and some harder to find items for my sister with Coeliac. If you have any awesome gluten-free recipes or tips for people who eat gluten free, as far as ingredients/substitutions/whatever goes, please let me know. It's fucking tragic how she eats, and how little of the gluten free stuff she buys/makes is actually edible. Plus, once she gives birth (prob. in the next two weeks), she's going back to vegetarian diet, and I want her to be as healthy as possible while still eating stuff that actually tastes good.
I was surprised that no one posted this yesterday (or at least no one on my flist, and neither of the PATD comms I follow, so, sorry if you've already seen it). I thought I'd share it here because I was confused to notice that Mercenary is only available on the album, so you can't purchase just the song. It is the only song like that, on the entire album, and IDK what to make of that. Is it some sort of distribution issue? Do they have an agreement w/whoever made the OST that it would only be available as part of the ST as a whole? There's a monologue in the middle that I think is probably Dr. Strange talking from a scene in the game, which might have something to do with it. Whatever, no big deal, because I want the whole album, anyway, I'm just impatient for the Panic! But for those of you who don't want to buy a whole cd just for the one Panic! song (and potentially The Damned Things), here ya go!

It's fun, and I'm always down for new Panic!, but probably not one of my favourites, thanks in large part to the speaking bit in there, and a lot lot lot of repetition of the chorus. I like more lyrics in my songs, boys. I'm looking at you, Let's Kill Tonight.
If anyone's interested in the full album, let me know. I can prob. put it up for a day or two.

So, you may or may not have noticed that I've been gone for a long, long while. Muse and I were on vacation for a few weeks, and besides that, our internet had slowly been getting suckier and suckier, until it took about 10 minutes to load a single page. It was like dial-up from 1998, only worse. I cried sometimes. But we went with a different (cheaper) provider, and actually have over 3x the speed. So jazzed. Anyway, longer post later, and FIC! But I just wanted to say I'm back, and I've missed you all, and had adventures. And I've missed you all. It deserves being mentioned twice.
Love!

So...we did get rained out. It was sort of epic, and would have been scary if we'd actually climbed down before the rain started, which we would have, except we decided to drive further up the mountain than we'd ever done before, so the rain started as we were driving up. There was a gorgeous rainbow about 3k up, and then around the 5,000 ft point it was a double rainbow. I got tonnes of pictures, and I'll probably post a few more later, but here, for your viewing pleasure:

Then, from the next day trip to a silver ore mine in Tombstone:

BFF, me, and Muse.
It was such an interesting day there, and gave me all sorts of ~ideas for fics set in the wild west...
Sadly, Muse had to return home yesterday, so now it's me and bff...we might have played borderlands for 14 hours straight, with one 1 hr break for pizza, but there are no witnesses and no proof.

Guys, there have to be more, longer videos from the Central Park show. There *have* to be. I cannot tell you how gleeful I am over the short snippet that I've seen of Brendon and Tyler singing together. They were so playful and adorable and it seemed like they knew each other pretty well--both the bands, too. It makes me hold out hope, since Foxy is the only one I've heard announced for the fall tour, and there has to be another opener, right? I am uneducated in these things, but it would make my LIFE if Neon Trees was added, too. I hate not living in New York any more, and never so much as when I miss these kind of awesome, once in a lifetime nights. Also super jazzed about Pete playing w/Panic, and Pete and Bebe being adorable and cuddly with each other.
Meanwhile, I'm climbing a mountain today! Well, not climbing it. Ryan and I like to go about an hour up Mt. Lemon and explore where there's this waterfall and awesome view of Tucson. Though I've been going through his library of Darwin Award books, and now I'm looking at everything I do like, "is this incredibly stupid? Am I lucky to have lived through this before?" because I always climb up from the base of the waterfall to the top, and usually there's a trickle of water that wouldn't even constitute a creek or stream, but if it rained, it would totally flash flood, and we've been up there when it was about to rain before. Also, I go down to the end of the stream which is a huge, huge drop off, with no railing, and I like to sit on the wall over the cliff, and it's never *seemed* dangerous before, but now I'm all paranoid.
Also, happy times, I bought this awesome, really pretty Panic! shirt at Hot Topic the other day, and the girl who checked me out at Bookman's complimented me on it, and then we fangirled over Panic! and fun., and how she hadn't got to see them and was bummed that fun. wouldn't be on the new tour. She'd never heard Foxy, and that makes me sad. Fandom needs to get with the Foxy love. I am equally excited for Panic! and Foxy, if that says anything about my own love for them...
Anyway, why can't I find more cool Panic! fans where I live?

Guys, guys! I know I've been absent for a long while (I'm writing lots of fic, I promise, but it's all LOOOOONNNNNG fic, so it'll be a while before any of it's finished). But, exciting things!
knight_tracer made a podfic of my story, Is the Fall. Check it out over here. It made me giddy with delight to listen to. I think I might be addicted to podfics, now :D
Does anyone know if there's an MCR comm for trading/buying tickets? I didn't plan on going to the Honda Civic Tour for a lot of reasons, but I actually have off Sunday (8/21), which is when they are in Ohio, and I really want to go...but I don't want to go unless I can get pit, or really close. The problem is, the prices are just outrageous (no shit, right?) I've seen lots of Panic! fans trying to sell and trade their tickets, so I figured there must be something similar for MCR, right?
Happy birthday
